The format for the WESG Europe and CIS Regional LAN has been revealed, with teams such as Virtus.pro, GODSENT and dignitas being placed in four five-team groups.
WESG Europe and CIS will bring 20 single-nation teams to Kiev, Ukraine to battle for a $75,000 prize pool and eight spots for the $1,5 million Global LAN finals in China.
The tournament will feature some of the worlds best teams such as Virtus.pro, dignitas and EnVyUs, some strong mix teams such as .Russia and .Norway, but will also give a chance for some lower tier teams such as Pixel and LGR to prove themselves on an international stage.
The tournament will utilize a round-robin best-of-three format for the five-team groups, with the best team from each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals.
The second and third placed teams from each group will also go on to the playoffs, but will have an additional match to play in the round of 12.
